Francisca Kartono, DO, is a board certified and fellowship trained dermatologist with a huge passion for anything dermatology including general medical, cosmetic, and surgical dermatology in Southeast Michigan. Dr. Kartono grew up between Indonesia and Belgium, and graduated with honors from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry before attending Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California, for osteopathic medical school training. She moved to Michigan, where she completed an internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit and a dermatology residency at Botsford and Pontiac Osteopathic hospitals through Michigan State University. Committed to continuing her education, Dr. Kartono pursued a fellowship at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, with a focus on cutaneous lymphoma. She served as an assistant clinical professor in dermatology at the Wexner Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus. Dr. Kartono enjoys educating others in the dermatology field. She has articles in numerous dermatology publications, lectures at national meetings, local community groups, and continues to be involved with resident teaching and clinical trials in the field of Dermatology. She is a member of the Board of Trustees for the American Osteopathic College of Dermatology. After spending time in Michigan for her internship and residency, Dr. Kartono made the state her permanent home. Dr. Kartono lives with her husband and two very energetic young boys.
