Jayme Heim is a nurse practitioner who specializes in treating patients with psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, chronic spontaneous urticaria and various other medically managed types of dermatitis. The majority of her patients are moderate to severe and are treated with biologic therapy.
She has a passion for caring for her patients’ physical and emotional needs and is a strong advocate for her patients’ access to care. She has worked in the capacity of study coordinator and sub-investigator in clinical research studies over the last ten years. Jayme is currently leading a real-world study that evaluates the quality of life for patients who receive biologic therapy for patients with moderate to severe psoriasis.
Jayme is also an advocate for providing education to future NPs and PAs. As such, she precepts students throughout the year from several universities located in the Midwest. She believes providers are entrusted to support the future of dermatology through mutual respect and supporting one another.
As a voice for her patients, she shares her experiences with the pharmacological industry to help educate them. She also partners with industry to help support and educate her peers by participating in multiple biologic projects.
Professionally, she is a faculty member of the Dermatology Education Foundations (DEF). The DEF identifies and supports the educational needs of NPs and PAs. Jayme has also co-authored several articles which have been published in professional journals regarding biologic therapy and the impact of psoriasis on men and women. She is also the recipient of the national psoriasis foundation Outstanding Advanced HCP Award 2022!
